In January 2024, AWA Mutual customers voted in favour of the proposal to transfer the business of AWA Mutual to Beyond Bank Australia.
In August 2024, we wrote to all AWA Mutual customers to notify them about the changes we need to make to their membership, accounts, and services from 23 September, when the system transfer to Beyond Bank occurs.
We are preparing to finalise the merger with the integration of our banking systems, which will occur from Friday, 20 September to Sunday, 22 September.
During this integration period, Beyond Bank and AWA Mutual customers will experience disruptions in accessing their accounts.
The following services will be affected for Beyond Bank customers:
- From 12:01am to 6:00am (ACST) on Sunday, 22 September, access to your account will be disrupted through the Mobile App, Internet Banking and Phone Banking
- Card transactions will continue to operate. During this time, some card controls may experience intermittent impacts
- Branches that operate on Saturdays will be closed on Saturday, 21 September 2024.
The following services will be affected for AWA Mutual customers:
- Branches will close at 2:30pm ACST / 12:00pm AWST on Friday, 20 September
- Access to your accounts using AWA Mutual Internet and Telephone Banking will cease on Friday, 20 September, at 2:30pm ACST / 12:00pm AWST
- Card transactions will continue to operate with reduced limits. During this time, some card controls may experience intermittent impacts
- There will be delays with any type of incoming and outgoing money transfer.
What can customers do to prepare?
- Plan ahead if you have significant transactions to make during this time
- Ensure you have funds available via other methods, including cash
- Visit us at a branch before 20 September to withdraw cash to see you through the weekend.
